Can I use this for Dungeons & Dragons?

This roller simulates standard d6 dice. For D&D you often need d4, d8, d10, d12, and d20 — this tool covers d6 only. Roll multiple dice and combine the totals for custom outcomes.

Why does the total sometimes feel low or high?
